Griffith Congratulates Ninth District Winners of Congressional Art Contest


Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) announced that Maria Wilson of Virginia High School has won the Congressional Art Contest in Virginia’s Ninth Congressional District. His work is called Sunset over the highlands.
Carroll County High School’s Natalie Vega took second place with Blue Ridge Laurelsand Emma Dingus of Twin Springs High School finished third with Appalachian Evening.
“Congratulations to Maria Wilson for winning first place,” says Griffith. “Her work shows great talent and has earned a place on the United States Capitol for all to see. I also want to congratulate Natalie Vega and Emma Dingus for placing second and third in the contest with their excellent entries. Their work will be suspended in my offices in Christiansburg and Abingdon.
“Throughout the Ninth District, we have many creative and capable students. I love seeing their work featured in the Congressional Art Competition every year, and I want to thank everyone who participated.
