Ramon Vega blown away by Tottenham star Oliver Skipp
Ramon Vega was impressed with Oliver Skipp’s performance as Tottenham ruined Newcastle’s party yesterday.
Goals from Harry Kane, Tanguy Ndombele and Son Heung-min secured three big points for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Tottenham were largely impressive and Callum Wilson’s goals and an own goal from Eric Dier couldn’t slow their day down.
Vega was watching the game from afar and reserved praise for the young Tottenham midfielder.
The 21-year-old has started six of the eight Premier League games played so far and is growing as a player.
He is clearly relishing the chance to play football on a regular basis and last season’s loan to Norwich seems to have worked wonders.
Skipp is actually quite experienced for a young player. He has 34 appearances under his belt for Tottenham and played 47 times for the Canaries last season.
Against Newcastle, the Tottenham academy graduate was superb. It featured incredible passing radar and also read the game really well.
The future looks very bright for the midfielder. He seems to have the support of his manager Nuno Espirito Santo and he hopes to continue playing.
Skipp was linked with another loan this summer, but the club’s decision to keep him looks positive.
What did Vega say about Tottenham star Skipp?
After watching yesterday’s game, the former Spurs defender said he was delighted with Skipp’s performance.
His comment perhaps suggests that he previously had a different take on the midfielder.
Now he is totally convinced by him and it seems that the star of the ex-Switzerland attaches great importance to Skipp.
The challenge for the Tottenham man must be to gain consistency. If he does, first-team football won’t be hard to come by.
Spurs have a plethora of talent in midfield, but Skipp is currently top of the list for a shirt.
