Revolution Beauty just teamed up with Coca Cola to launch a new out-of-this-world makeup collaboration, and the eyeshadow palette has become my new go-to for bold looks!
The Revolution x Coca Cola Creations collection is inspired by the new Starlight Coke Space flavor. It’s supposed to taste like “stargazing around a campfire, as well as a cooling sensation that evokes the feeling of cold space travel,” according to Coca Cola themselves. The makeup collection sums that up with space-themed shade names and a vibrant galaxy color palette that matches the new Coke bottles. This collection also serves as the brand’s festival makeup version.
The star from the collaboration (pun intended) is definitely the Revolution x Coca Cola Palette, an 18-shade eyeshadow palette with shimmer and metallic finishes – no mattes here! At first I thought it would be difficult to create a balanced look with an all-shimmer palette, but the range of color tones allows for enough versatility and the ability to add dimension.
The collection also includes a mini palette that will save you a few bucks ($10 vs. full size at $18), but also limit your shade options. You definitely don’t need both, as they are mostly shadow repeats, although they have different names. Personally, I think the full size is worth it if you’re a fan of bright colors, but if you’re just adding a touch here and there, the mini might be a better choice.
I was pleasantly surprised by this eyeshadow formula, which applied very easily with high color payoff. Some of the foil shades, such as rocket, star, and Meteorite will apply harder with your finger than a brush, and some shimmery shades will produce glitter fallout, but overall they were incredibly easy to apply.
The shades also blend beautifully into each other, which is not only a sign of a great formula, but also a well-thought-out color palette. There really are no conflicting colors here, giving you the power to mix and match the entire palette.
In the look above I used Zodiac in the fold, Constellation in the inside and outside corner, and Bubbles in the center of the lid. I love how the shades work together and definitely refer to the new Coke Starlight brand.
Since this is a festival palette, I really think it can produce bold, bold looks whether you use one shade or five. It’s a great option, especially since the colors stay so vibrant all day.
You can find the Revolution x Coca Cola palette on the Revolution website, and they’ll have a limited release at Target stores soon.
