The MC Nursing program celebrates the promotion

Midland College (MC) honored 17 nursing graduate students in a pinning and candle lighting ceremony on December 7 at the Allison Fine Arts Building Wagner and Brown Auditorium.
“All of these students will have a positive impact on health care and the lives of their patients in our community,” said Dr. Carmen Edwards, Dean of Health Sciences. “Each graduate will advocate for patients to receive the highest quality of care every day. Nurses are badly needed right now, and these students are rallying. “
MC Spring 2021 Nursing Graduates are Valeria Acosta, Ifeoluwa Adeosun, Ashley Bradley, Melynda Cardona, Cindi Casas, Madison Currie, Rylee Gatewood, Tiffany Jones, Carly Kidwell, Angelina Lee, Emilee Lee, Hilda A. Olivera Gomez, Deanna Reyes, Ginny M. Schechter, Kaitlyn Stroope, Ricardo Vega, Cassandra Villarreal.
“Nurses are truly heroes as we continue to fight this pandemic,” said Dian White, Chair of the Associate Nursing Program. “These graduates have prepared themselves as health care needs increase, we are very proud of them and congratulate them on taking this important step. “
Students can now take the National Council licensing exam to become registered nurses and provide health care to residents of West Texas and beyond.
