Swan Hellenic’s second ice-class expedition ship, Vega, left Tromso for its first Arctic cruise, an 11-day exploration of the Svalbard archipelago.
Departing from Tromso on July 30, Vega’s inaugural season will see him continue to explore the Arctic
The new ship is the second in a series of three expedition cruise ships, and along with her sister ship, Minerva, has been designed to meet the latest environmental regulations.
Offering accommodation for 152 guests in 76 staterooms and suites, most with balconies, Vega is operated by a crew of 120 on board.
Departing from Tromso on July 30, Vega’s inaugural season will continue to explore the Arctic, from the Svalbard archipelago and Icelandic landscapes to Greenland, the Northwest Passage and northern Canada.
Then, in the fall, it will travel down the east coast of the United States for 12 days, passing through New York, Norfolk and Charleston to Miami.
